HOLY CRAFTY SUNDAY!!! What's that???

Hey All!!!

Wait, whats a Crafty Sunday??? I haven't had one in SO long that I TOTALLY forget what it is!!

Well, a Crafty Sunday starts out bright and early at a Crafty Store with you BCP (Best Crafty Partner)...In my case, its my sister-in-law, Colleen! We made a trip to Michael's first, then off to AC Moore. We were suppossed to hit Hobby Lobby last night, but a certain BCP forgot about me! WAHHH! I wish they were open on Sunday's! All the best things are closed on Sunday's!

Then, after you get your crafty shopping done, you come up and make some room for all your new stuff in your craft room! That's usually the hard part, lol!

After you get it away, clean up the mess you made trying to make more room! HAHAHAHA!!!

Now, its time to GET CRAFTY!!!

Today, I am hardcore working on my pre-made scrapbook layouts for our upcoming craft show! I am also making die cut embellishments to sell! I am just doubling ever icon I make to add to the list!!!

But, I also wanted to make a SUPER CUTE card today with a file that I received from Regina over at The Cutting Cafe. She had sent me an adorable little owl card that I wanted to make, and so I did!

Here is the card all finished!!!

And here is a video of what the pieces look like! I also tell you the supplies that I used for the project!

Click HERE for the link !!!

OK all....I'm still getting crafty, so I hope you all are Craftin' and Stampin' as well!!!

Hiding In My Craft Room Post-Freestyle!

Hey All!!!

It's Saturday again! And guess what that means??? Another Hiding In My Craft Room challenge!!!

This week, the theme is:

FREESTYLE!!!!

I love when we have a freestyle type theme because we can make WHATEVER!

So, for my project, I made a paper mache item. I made a spell book out of a plain old item! Wanna see it??

It was SO EASY to make!

First, I painted the entire book in black paint. Next I took some crackle paint and did a thin layer on top of the black paint. Then, I took the purple paint and painted another layer on top, and FINALLY another layer of crackle paint.

While I waited for it all to dry, I pulled out my Theresa Collins Chic and Scary Cricut Cartridge and cut out "Poisons and Potions". I popped up the skeleton head on a pop dot to make it come out at you! I also cut 5 cuts from Craft Room Basics for me to mount the Poisons and Potions on. I glued them all together CAREFULLY to make it seem thicker, like an old scary book might look!

After I did that, I adhered it to the book, and coated once again with crackle paint!

I cant wait to get it up for Halloween in my house! Its going to look great!!!

OK all, please check out the rest of my DT sisters projects!!! They are ALL wonderful!!! Then, be sure to enter your project into the HIMCR challenge!!

Hope to catch you all Craftin' and Stampin'!

Would You Ever Guess Wednesday with My Cricut Craft Room

Hey All!!

Welcome to WOULD YOU EVER GUESS WEDNESDAY with the Design Team from My Cricut Craft Room!

Today's WYEGW is about using ANY function keys as well as using the colors PINK, BLACK, & WHITE!

So, I just recently got DR. CHECKUP in the mail, so I knew I would like to use that cartridge. BUT, I didn't want to do another get well soon type card. So, I looked and looked and found the PERFECT image!!!! Wanna see the card to see the image????

Front of the card! Don't you just love the colors all together??? The stamp says "FREE, TAKE ONE". This is from the Jaded Blossom Stamp Set-Miscellaneous Fun. I used Rose Red from Stampin' Up for the ink color, and also a VERY old punch that does not have a title to cut out the stamp.

Close up shot of the lollipop! I added Glossy Accents to the pink part of the lollipop and I added Stickles to the white part of the lollipop (Diamond Stickles). I also added Stickles to the bow (Spun Sugar Stickles)!

The stamped sentiment in the inside of the card is from Pink By Designs stamp set BREAST WISHES.  Also used Rose Red for the inside sentiment ink.

Now, please make sure you go back and check out the rest of the Design Teams projects for today!

You can see them by clicking HERE.

OK all, hope to catch you Craftin' and Stampin'!

My Day At Exploring Cricut!

Hey All!!

Today is my turn at Exploring Cricut!

As you know, when its your day at Exploring Cricut, you can make WHATEVER you want (as long as you use a Cricut Cutout). So, today I decided to utilize the Craft Room to make a project for MY Craft Room!

I have been seeing these signs ALL over the internet! I refused to pay for one when I KNEW I could make one myself! So, I started up the Craft Room, and I got to work! Here is what I came up with:

Let me tell you how easy this was! You know me and my life...I NEED easy!!!

I used the Craft Room Basics file for the letters, and the Cricut Essentials file for the cutout that the letters were cut out of! Once I got it the way I wanted, I cut out the letters FIRST, then I unloaded the mat, and reloaded it, and cut the shape around the letters. I set it up in the craft room to look like this first (there is 2 layers and they are both on, that way I knew it would cut right):

I mounted the cutout in a frame that I will keep on my craft table!

Now how easy is that???

Dont forget we still have our Transportation Challenge going on! Make sure you enter your project in by Sunday to try to win some goodies!!! You can click HERE to enter!

OK All, Hope to catch you all Craftin' and Stampin'!

The Cutting Cafe Video Post-Chevron Cutting File card

Hey All!!!

How empty have I felt without having my camcorder??? I am SO glad I have it back now! Because I have not had my camera, I have not been able to do my postings for The Cutting Cafe because I am party of the video team! I needed to get that camera fixed, and FAST! Thankfully, its back in my craftroom!!

SOOOOO, I wanted to share a quick card that I made with The Cutting Cafe's file-Chevron Cutting File's. This file was SUPER easy to cute on my Silhouette Cameo! And it turned out SUPER CUTE!!!

Here a picture of my card:

Exploring Cricut-Trains, Planes, and Automobiles!

Click HERE for my Made Especially For You post!!!!

Hey All!!

It's time for another awesome challenge over at Exploring Cricut!!!

Here are the details for this weeks challenge:

Monday Sept.24 Challenge-
"Trains, planes, and automobiles" created a card, layout, or papercraft with a cricut cutout of some means of transportation."

I have to admit this challenge had me thinking!!! I new I had a ton of cartridges, BUT did I have any stamps with a saying that could work for this weeks challenge???? So, I went digging through ALL my stamps, and found a cute little sentiment. Once I found the sentiment, I knew which form of transportation I was going to create!!!

Here is my card:

Not sure if you can make out what my sentiment says, but it says "LET YOUR DREAM SET SAIL"...I thought the Sailboat from LIFE'S A BEACH was the PERFECT cut for that saying...Don't you??? I used my Big Shot to emboss the waves, and I was going to make foam on the tip of the waves, but I couldnt find my puffy foam!!! WAHHH!! Oh well, when I find it, I will add it!!!

Now, go and check out the rest of the AMAZING design teams projects!! Then enter YOUR project for this weeks challenge HERE!!!

HIMCR-Mix It Up with a Halloween Theme

Hey All!!

Time for another Hiding In My Craft Room challenge!!! Woo Hoo!!!

Today's theme is MIX IT UP...with a Halloween Theme!

I think I mixed it up well...I used wood in my project!!!

Here it it:

I went to Lowes and grabbed a 2X4X10 and had them cut it down to 12 inch pieces (because that's the smallest the are allowed by law to cut), then had my brother in law cut them down to 4 inch pieces.

Once they were all 4 inches (which I got about 25 pieces out of that, and it only cost me $4.50!), I then sanded them down to make sure they didn't scratch anyone.

Then, I painted the blocks purple. After I painted them, I used MOD PODGE and painted the front, then stuck my back ground paper on, mod podged again, then the letter E.

I used my Silhouette to cut the letters which are fonts from DA FONT.

After the letters were on, I Mod Podged the WHOLE block. After it dried, I added the purple ribbon as decoration!

Took me a total of 2 hours from start to finish with everything drying! Give it a whirl!!!

Now, go and check out some more inspiration with the DT!!!!

OK all, hope to catch you all Craftin' and Stampin'!

HIMCR-Technique Week!

Hey All!!

Today is Technique Week over at Hiding In My Craft Room!

For this weeks technique, we are doing Distressing or Antiquing!

There are MULTIPLE ways that you can distress or antique an item. You can sand, ink, rip, cut, crinkle, etc to give an item a distressed or aged look! You can do it to ANY item!!

I am used to distressing my cards or scrapbook layouts. For today's project, I wanted to think OUTSIDE the box and try to distress/age something different! So...here is what I wanted to distress:

These are 4 regular glass bottle that I found at AC Moore for $1.49 each!!! Now, its almost Halloween and I have been checking out prices on the decorations. WHAT??? Are they NUTS??? To but a "spooky" bottle decoration was going to cost me about $12! I KNEW I could make my own, so hence... Here is what I aged:

Here is an up close view of the first bottle. (After I took this picture, I knew it needed something...then came twine)

Here is what all 4 bottle look like after I distressed them a bit!

Supplies:

ModPodge
Silhouette Studio Files for labels
Vellum
Tim Holtz Distress ink-Vintage Photo
Brown and White Twine-Martha Stewart.

So, remember, you can give ANYTHING an older look! Try it out on a card first, then move on to something a little harder! Now, check out the rest of my DT sisters for some more inspiration! And make sure you enter this weeks challenge by clicking HERE!

OK all, hope to catch you Craftin' and Stampin'!

Card Creating Tuesday at My Cricut Craft Room!

Click HERE for my Close To My Heart online store where you can purchase Cricut ARTISTE!

Hey all!!

First and foremost...Being it is September 11, please keep your hearts open for the men, women, and children who lost lives 11 years ago today. God, I will NEVER forget where I was or how sad I felt after that day. I will explain to my son now that he is getting older what happened that day, and how it changed our world for the future.

Now, for my project...

Its time for another project over at My Cricut Craft Room!!!

Today, its Card Creating Tuesday! And we have to make a 3D Card!!!

For my card, I decided to pull out my Cricut Mini and play with that! I got an email from Cricut saying that if you link up your mini to the craft room, you will get access to 100's of images for FREE!!! Well, I LOVE free, so I hooked it up!!!

There were a few images that they gave us....Cricut Mini Baby, Cricut Mini Celebrate, Cricut Mini Elegant, and Cricut Mini School. Now, I also so Barack Obama and Mitt Romney...Not too sure if these were part of the Cricut Mini freebee's!!! LOL!!!

So,  here is the card I created for today:

I used Cricut Mini Celebrate and cut out the confetti with different pieces of background paper! I poped the pieces up on pop dots, and stamped CELEBRATE on a piece of purple paper to look almost like a forturn cookie paper....at least that was the look I was going for!!!

I hope you can go and check out the rest of the DT projects to see what they created!

Hope to catch you all Craftin' and Stampin'!

Monday, Sept.  10- Sept. 16    Challenge-Cricut choice make any card, layout of papercraft in any theme or color, but must include one person cut (man, woman, boy, girl) from any cartridge that have those images.

As for my project this week, I wanted to make something "sporty" to give my hubby as a present. I thought about it, and thought about it, and I finally found what I wanted to make him. I will say, I am not happy with the colors so much because I did not have the team's CORRECT green, but he got the point and said he would put it out on Sunday as a good luck charm for his team! They were loosing all the way until I brought down his gift, then they won by 1 point!!! Woo Hoo!! So, here is my project:

I used the Cricut Cartridge Autumn Celebrations for this project! I cut the orginal image at 8 inches and all of the relative parts at 8. I used Craft Room Basics for the letters!

Make sure you get over to look at the rest of the wonderful design team's projects! And remember you have a week to enter your project for a chance to win!!

September 100 Cartridge Blog Hop with My Cricut Craft Room!

Click HERE for my Close To My Heart online store where you can purchase Cricut Artiste Cartridge!

Welcome to Erica's Craft Room

100 Cricut Cartridge Blog Hop Day ONE

You should have started at http://mycricutcraftroom.blogspot.com/ if not please start at the beginning

Welcome to My Cricut Craft Room's 100 cartridge Blog hop!
.

Collectively the design team uses over 100 different Cricut Cartridges in their projects during the two days of this hop. Sunday the new members of the design team will be announced and some have even made a project to share with you!! What an exciting weekend!!

For my project, I created a crayon box for my son to use at school! I used Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2, Locker Talk, Word of Mouth, and Sesame Street Font.

I used my Cricut Imagine to color all the pieces and to make the backgound paper!

The background paper for this box is one of the background pieces from WORD OF MOUTH

The box was cut at 9in from TAGS BAGS BOXES AND MORE 2. I also cut the crayons from LOCKER TALK at 4 inches.

I also decided to use my GYPSY to weld my son's name from SESAME STREET FONT and put his name on one side.

Used SESAME STREET FONT again to spell and weld the word crayons.
