Hello All!!!

Welcome to the Cookies For Santa Blog Hop!!!

You should of arrived here from TERESA'S blog!! If you did not, please start at the beginning at LISA'S blog!!!

Today's hop is a one day hop that focus' on HOLIDAY COOKIES! You know, like the kind you leave for the big man himself!

For my recipe today, I am giving you the recipe for SANTA'S SURPRISE cookies! They may not look so interesting or festive, but its kind of like Santa's Bag with these cookies....looks like just a sack, but INSIDE is where the magic is! You see, the SURPRISE of the Santa's Surprise cookies is a SNICKERS MINI BAR!!! WOO HOO! These cookies also go by the name SNICKERS SURPRISE! Snickers just might be my FAVORITE candy of ALL TIME!!! How can you go wrong with adding a snickers to a cookie? YOU CAN'T!!!!

Here is the recipe so you can make them for Christmas Eve for Santa to snack on!

Ingredients:

Serves: 24

Yield: dozen
Units: US | Metric

1 cup butter, softened
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
24 Snickers miniature candy bars

Directions:

Preheat oven to 300°F.
In a medium bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, and salt.
In a large bowl, mix together butter, peanut butter, and sugars until light and fluffy.
Add eggs and vanilla and combine thoroughly.
Then mix in flour mixture.
Cover and chill dough 2-3 hours.
To form cookie, scoop a tablespoon of chilled dough and flatten.
Place a miniature Snickers in the center and form the dough into a ball around the Snickers.
Place on a greased cookie sheet.
10 Bake for 10-20 minutes.
11 Cool cookies on a rack.

  6. SNICKERS? YES! I'd have to make the dough and then run out to buy the snickers to guarantee there would be enough left to add to the dough.
