Hey All!!

Today is my post as a guest designer with SVG Cutting Files :( I am SOOO bummed! I had SUCH a great time playing with Anne's files! They are SOOO easy and ALWAYS SO STINKING CUTE!!

As I was thinking of what I was gonna make today, I was thinking of when I was first introduced to her files...I remember, it was Candace from Jaded Blossom who introduced me to her files! I saw the Holiday Files from Anne on her blog! I remember thinking how COOL it was that Anne was giving away FREE files!! I mean, seriously, it was 12 DAYS OF FREE FILES! I remember signing in every day to see what was new! I was so excited and I became a customer at that very time!! 

Flash forward to today! Anne has made so many AMAZING files, but, for my project today, I wanted to make a tribute to her and make my project based on how I first met her!! 

Here is my project!

Hey All!!

Welcome to my Guest Designer Day over at SVG Cutting Files!!! I am sooooo excited to be doing this file this week BECAUSE it was a BLAST to do!!! 

I am a TOTAL Sock Monkey lover...especially when my absolutely adorable nephew's first birthday was themed around it...I began to LOVE that little monkey! Here was the banner I made for my nephew so you can see what I worked with (and that I sell in my Etsy Store).

Well, when Ann said that this week was SOCK MONKEY MANIA week, I almost died!!! I COULDN'T wait to make something out of her awesome files!! I knew they would be great..BUT...I didnt know they could be THIS GREAT!! 

I decided on the Nerdy Book Worm Sock Monkey!!! How do you think he turned out??

I didn't mess with the size of the monkey. I kept him as he was. I did use Cocoa ink to ink up the edges of the pieces, and I used my white gel pen to give some accents to him. I made his eyes a little crooked, because I know after I am done reading for a while, and I look up, I feel a little cross-eyed!  I also used Liquid Glass for his glasses so they appeared to look real. I wish I would of taken the picture AFTER it dried cause you can still see its wet in the up close pic :( I used a 5 X 7 card base and I made the layers of my patterned paper be 4 X 6 for the brown piece. Then the blue patterened piece was cut at 3 1/2 x 4 1/4. I layered the red piece at 3 1/4 X 4. Then I used foam tape to pop the Monkey up. I used Jaded Blossom Mini Tag Dies that were just released along with the Science Matters stamp set to make the Happy Birthday Smartie Pants sentiment! Doesn't the sentiment and the Monkey look PERFECT together??
